I've often wondered about the "if you get laid, you'll feel better" perspective. Does that actually work for some people? If it does, why don't doctors write prescriptions for THAT? Perhaps print the prescriptions out on t-shirts for all to see. ;-)

I've sometimes thought it's kind of a shame that (AFAIK) the strip never had Bruno press Jay re the hypocrisy of him, while single and Catholic, having "a girlfriend of whom he is currently sleeping" (OSLT); she mentioned it once, but there was never any real discussion of it. I mean, sure, it's just a fact that some people are hypocrites when it comes to sex and religion, but how often do you get a chance to hear any of them, even a fictional character, outright admit it?

Which reminds me of an anecdote Dr. Isaac Asimov related in (I'm pretty sure) one of his treasuries of humor: Dr. A was discussing his divorce problems of the time with a Catholic friend, who mentioned he was getting divorced too. Ever astute, Dr. A asked how a Catholic could get a divorce (this was way back in the middle of the twentieth century or whenever, stuff like that wasn't quite as commonly discussed as now) and got the reply: "Oh, there's a loophole. I'm a BAD Catholic."
