Gee, Chris, I think you're right.

Haven't we already had this conversation, somewhere?

The concept of a multiverse can solve the contradiction: in each version (world line) of the universe, there is complete coherence between will and future; the exertion of free will is a branching of world lines, both (or all) of which exist. World lines could also converge. Indeed, it seems they would have to, because there would have to be one world line for every possible state of every possible universe.

Nostradamus made predictions of the future, horoscopes make predictions of the future, God could be a can of worms in this argument because of the many many differing versions and interpretations of him in religion and spirituality and philosophy throughout the world, but many interpretations of him have some foreknowledge of the future. I've never heard a version of Santa that could predict the future.

I think the joke here is that Bruno and Louis both equate God with a children's fairy tale tradition. Or that Louis can say he doesn't disbelieve and the next sentence approve that comparison. But it's just not clicking for me, perhaps because I believe.

Predestination, like many religious concepts, seems to change in definition depending on who one is speaking with. But yeah, a lot of it's discussion can get frustrating.
