I've never heard a version of Santa that could predict the future. I think the joke here is that Bruno and Louis both equate God with a children's fairy tale tradition. Or that Louis can say he doesn't disbelieve and the next sentence approve that comparison. But it's just not clicking for me, perhaps because I believe.
