Which is a choice, but a passive one, allowing the happening (outside force) to occur. And I don't think Bruno is feeling like she cheated on Sophia, I don't think she's really explaining it away like that (well, maybe a tiny bit). But to let Sophia know that it DID happen, and also what significance it meant to her. Well, true, but I’d say that you can LET things happen.
