		<description>Actually, those issues seem neither modern nor particularly American.  We evolved with conflicting drives -- self vs. clan/species, the need to spread genes far and wide vs. nurturing the young through that long childhood, and on and on.  And I don&#039;t think it&#039;s male/female -- we&#039;re all conflicted.

Since we developed these big brains (the jury is still out on whether that will be an evolutionary advantage in the long run), it&#039;s just intensified.

It would be interesting to see if those who are &quot;happily&quot; polyamorous are neurologically different from most folks in some way.</description>
