I started having midlife crises at 19. I wore out motorcycles pretty early on, though. It's the radical idea of doing what you want instead of what you're told to do that makes you a midlife-crisis type, not a particular vehicle or musical instrument.

Oh God... I am so depressed. Men-growing-older are the most depressing sort of human. Especially when they can't accept it. God.

Yes. Life has many many crossroads. And adding another human being to the mixture which is our life always makes it even more complex.

I hope the other person finds a spot inside your car, if that is the way you hope it should be. <3

There are the dreams which might have been forgotten. You go looking for them and the process of getting back to them might involve the sports car.

Mine's a black Miata, BTW.

There's also the person who wants you to stay the same, not fall by the wayside, as they might imagine your going off wandering.

The "crisis car" wording has something to do with fear, I think.

They want you to accept the present instead of going off changing things because of some long lost dreaming they are not a part of.

They don't think they fit in the crisis car and that you will drive off without them.

Doesn't it seem so...

My sports car is a Telecaster. Oddly (because I didn't intend it this way), it's cherry red -- the color of all midlife crisis sports cars. Great. Now I'm the douchebag I feared becoming.
