What of the torrent of romance novels, some pretty shoddy as literature, with huge all-female readerships because of their low and lusty approach to the subject matter? But Elian's wrong about edible pornography; inks used in four-could web offset printing tend to use heavy metals for pigment for their vibrancy, and they're poisonous. Still, I suspect that if pornography had to be produced only on edible materials, using things like cake frosting for coloring, the national diabetes rate would be twice as high as it is now.
