Shortly after I left Kentucky to go to Hampshire College, someone in the dorm, going out to get sandwiches, asked me if I wanted a &quot;roast beef grinder.&quot;  I stared blankly.  What on earth would I do with a meat grinder?  I didn&#039;t know that&#039;s what they called hoagies/submarine sandwiches.</description>
