Thanks. :-) IMHO the more exotic “Katia” sounds like more of a stripper-ish name than “Dannie” (it’s even got the word “cot” in it) but that’s a purely subjective thing.

Per Wikipedia (so, you know…), Katia is a variant form of Katya which is a variant form of Yekaterina which is a variant form of Katherine which apparently means “pure.” See? Perfect name for a stripper. ;-)

Moving in reverse, Katherine shifts to Yekaterina (which is Russian, that wasn’t relevant earlier) which shifts to Katya which is the pet name that Peter “Colossus” Rasputin (who’s, you know, Russian) gave to Katherine “Kitty”/ “Shadowcat” Pryde. And thus we come full circle. Sort of.

I started to go into a total tangent about Colossus and Shadowcat but I stopped. You’re welcome. ;-)

Oh, that! Yes. Yeah, it was fun a few times during them full run of the strip to follow the secondary characters a bit, passing the story from one to another like a baton. :)
