You can listen, but good friends tell you if they think you've gone wrong. Those same friends can also be assholes who'll spit out unsolicited bad advice, but aside from online trolls or sadistic IRL turds, most of them aren't trying to make you do anything or hurt you with what they say. Even strangers who you'll never meet might care about what happens to you but just not know how to help. Disagreeing with someone isn’t the same thing as not being on their side or caring about what happens to them. You can listen, but good friends tell you if they think you’ve gone wrong.

Those same friends can also be assholes who’ll spit out unsolicited bad advice, but aside from online trolls or sadistic IRL turds, most of them aren’t trying to make you do anything or hurt you with what they say.

Even strangers who you’ll never meet might care about what happens to you but just not know how to help.
