It's possible that Stan may be found guilty regardless of his innocence. We are also taking the word of the voice on the phone that he's actually innocent. * Of course there is; this is a work of art, and the artist may conclude the story however he wants. Not to mention that he actually already has, because this is a reprint. :) But from the reader's perspective at this point in the story, we only know he's in jail and has been wrongfully accused. Did I err here?
