Maybe it's a bit like this: I used to spend hours at a time on the subway line, just riding back and forth because the movement made me feel like my life was moving forward too.

But feeling like you're going somewhere in life is something reflected on the inside, not the outside. No matter how far away you go bodily, you're still you.

Amy's the voice of reason here, which for some reason Bruno isn't hearing. The problem is entirely Bruno's but she seems unwilling or unable to confront the root cause -- which, as should be obvious to all by now, is a fear of becoming like the people she's 'visiting.' Terrified, really. A fragility like that can't be patched from the outside. And Amy knows it.

On the other hand Amy has a point. Bruno has gone from: merely assuming that everyone is ok with her flitting away whenever the whimsy strikes, and that everything will be just as it was whenever she gets back, to: *demanding* that everyone be ok with her walking away and coming back whenever she wants to. Bruno needs to accept that leaving people behind can hurt them, and she can't force/require people to feel for her what *she* wants them to feel for her!
