Better to eat the strawberry than worry that you're going to be eaten by that tiger, but you really have to drag your brain kicking and screaming along with the motivated bit of you. I'm fairly convinced that depression is a normal reaction to the greater world, to be willing to fight yourself tooth and nail to subdue or overwhelm it effectively is the exception.
