I’ve been told I take things too seriously too.
But from what I’ve seen is that others take very little seriously. They blow off injuries that can cripple, blow off child abuse until someone is hurt, ignore bruises on battered women until they’re dead, same with animal abuse…
Moderation is just as important, sure, but at what cost? And exactly WHEN are we supposed to call the cops or an ambulance? From what I’ve seen, it’s always far too late.
So, I’m with Bruno on this one.

I noticed in reading Bruno that she seems to run into everyone she breaks up with, a few weeks or months later. It’s always awkward, but that’s to be expected, I suppose.
