Sex isn't a *necessity* for a happy and fulfilling life. Although admittedly it sure helps. The reference to sitcoms reminds me of what I thought could have been a good "Friends" plot: Ross's ex-wife Carol's wife Susan decides she wants to bear the couple's next child, and since Ross is the father is the father of Carol's son Ben, she wants Ross to be the sperm donor for HER baby (this would in fact be a good idea for both medical and legal reasons). Joey's dialogue writes itself: "So, wait, you're NOT gonna sleep with her but you ARE gonna get her pregnant? You got the whole thing backwards!"
