This often happens when I talk with kids, I make some surreal play on thought which I think lines up with their thinking and which I think they will be trés trés amused by. They are rarely impressed, but they do often find it somewhat funny. Laughing AT me, not with.

This is something I still struggle with, the balance between feeling good about myself and yet not being or coming across conceited. In other words, not feeling TOO good about myself. Usually it’s just easier to feel lousy about myself.
Good to see that Lenny has her back. And it’s always that guy, who shows up in some special costume, is drunk, and everyone kinda’ knows from ‘around,’ isn’t it.
Btw, in case you forgot, this is a re-run (with comments) of the strip “Bruno,” and the dates don’t really line up, so this strip ORIGINALLY ran on halloween.

This strip came from me listening to a preacher on the radio. For some reason on that particular day I reacted by standing back and listening to how-he-was-saying-and-what. This strip is what my mind said.
I remember thinking about this one chill night, as I stood there peeing, thinking “I sure am glad that I don’t have to sit on that cold thing.”
Ick. This was based on an actual incident. An acquaintance of a friend was telling this story of how he beat someone up. As you can guess, I was unimpressed.
Yeah, this was an actual dream. Still freaks me out to look at this one.
The punchline of this one, is one of those “truths” I question the truth of. Do most people make things hard because they crave a struggle/challenge, or is it just the neurotic minority like myself? I’d poll you all, but I imagine it’s a skewed group. :)
I like that this strip has a deeper sentiment behind it. Because, when you don’t believe, but you’re tired of making all your decisions for yourself without the guidance of an old book, which religion (which you don’t believe) can you turn to? I was in 6th grade when I realized (on my own) that all religions have “proof” and I would never know which was correct.
Of course, the surface of the strip is just her complaining because she’s having a rough day. :)
