I needed a good reason for Bruno to leave New Orleans, and the desperate request from an uncle and aunt who loathe her seemed a perfect solution.
Here’s me making it even more abundantly clear that Bruno’s aunt and uncle do not like or trust her, and so putting Bruno in charge becomes a set up for conflict. Plus, a good chance for cat to deliver one of his dry one-liners.
I like Bruno’s dealing with Amy’s meltdown here. Since she’s making Amy live to her values (no television), it’s nice that she also wants to let her in on the fun (travel) and knowledge (definitions). At least it’s consistent.
Not sure what to say about this strip. There it is. Follow-up on Amy. Randall being chosen because he got on the best with her.
Using leverage when someone needs your skills/presence is not very kind, but it feels good when they also happen to make no secret of how much they dislike you.
I don’t know how much shame her uncle should feel. They have such a broken communication relationship that it’s kinda’ all fair at this point.
