My birthdays back then were kinda sad and lonely. I was never very good at organizing a party. And I expressed the isolation in the strip, but I don’t believe I was drunk and half-passed out on the floor. Well, not on my brithday anyway.

I think I somewhat had Bruno creating her own problems somewhat to have others comfort her and take care of her. But a lot of writing the strip was just “feeling out” the character, so I’m not sure.
This was based on an actual incident at UMass, but unfortunately I do not recall the details, and so can’t really explain it. but I’m sure it was insightful and funny!
Christina and Lenny were a good pairing. Definitely birds of a feather.
Too much drinking when you’re caught up in your personal tragic situation and really depressed about it is never pretty.
