Bruno was never 100% clear on the tenets Catholicism, but she was always LOUD and clear when she felt someone preached one thing, even wanted her to live by it, but that they didn’t live by it themselves.
But, for some reason her and Jay developed a deep caring for each other.
The idea i wanted to explore, is that she is pagan (non mainstream religious) (although she later refers to herself as agnostic), and she lets Jay know that she recognizes that his arguments are Christian based. Since they are both religious based opinions, there is no middle ground for rational argument.
Which is kinda why it’s such a messy topic.
For the sake of my sanity and for the comfort of those with varying views on the subject, I will not be allowing comments on this week and ask you not to try commenting about it elsewhere. I hope you understand and are okay with that.
Maybe that’s why Bruno remains friends with Jay. She just did something he highly disagrees with, but he can step back and see that the action has already been taken, and so he asks her how she’s doing.
At the end of the day, they can disagree, but they can still care about each other.

The problem with picking on someone and their choices too much, is that they begin to expect it. But I like that Bruno is a 3 dimensional character, where sides like this show perhaps a less pretty side of her personality.
Originally I had stressed the word “mind” as in, “now you have a child’s MIND to molest.” Fortunately I later noticed the error and remedied it.
Sometimes people can react very over-seriously, in this case it think Bruno is just using it as an excuse to poke fun.
I have always loved confidence in the face of mockery. Of pride in the face of humiliation. Of toys that go buzz.
I like Jay. I always liked Jay. He takes it and gives it. If Bruno and Jay’s antagonism was upped even just a slight bit, it’d be nasty. But they care about each other, and just duel because it’s what they do.
Cat’s licking himself! Cute. Reaaal cute, younger me.
Lenny and Jay never really hit it off.
I am really not of a fan of gay jokes. Or jokes against any minority, especially marginalized ones. Although I think it can be done tastefully, and in those rare cases, I think it’s always where it is clearly a CHARACTER making that judgement or speaking distastefully, and through other means or characters, the author shows that it is not what the author believes. It may sound all wishy-washy and P.C., but I think you can be super offensively funny and yet pull it off (RIcky Gervais stand-up comes immediately to mind).
Nice of Lenny to stick around despite/because-of Bruno locking herself in the closet. It was one of the first weeks where I went for a repeated scene every day of the week (Today’s ran on a Monday), which was fun to play with.
Marijuana never did much for me (not that IÂ :ahem:Â ever inhaled, mind you). But I certainly knew plenty of people who enjoyed it, and I often enjoyed their company and the silliness which ensued. To be fair, there were more than enough times when they bored or annoyed me as much.
