I remember this being a big revelation for me. It’s something I still have to occasionally remind myself of.
Earlier that year in 1997, Ellen DeGeneres, came out as being homosexual and then had her character on her show “Ellen” came out as well. For those who don’t remember, that was one of the first examples in the US, certainly one of the most notable/huge.
Not exactly a triumphant return.
Not good, not bad, she simply never had to think much about this stuff. Children can be a great distraction in that regard.
I have too often given what I later come to regard as poor advice. I usually wish people wouldn’t listen to me regarding life choices.
Mind you, I’ve given plenty of good advice too. Let’s be real here.
When you get the chance to escape bad, beware of lures of “what ifs.”
