Bruno and Stanley always had a complex relationship. There was always a possible dream of a happy normal life, but always on the other side of a wall. A wall neither of them were capable of climbing.
This sequence totally weirds me out. Which was part of the point. It is disturbing the stories we hang onto, and it is an awfully difficult thing to get through.
I THINK I’m back….
I have found that often when people say they can’t do things, when given the opportunity, they will often turn it down or sabotage it. We are strange creatures, and it pleases me that any of us carve out any happiness in this strange world.
“Bankers and Postal Employees”? I tried looking at news the few days before this strip, but didn’t see anything. I wonder what i was talking about. That’s the funny thing when writing topical comics.
And who knew we’d live to see a day where there are about 8 different kinds of chocolate-variety butter spreads?!!!
For years and years and years and years and years I tried to put a name on that feeling. Pin it down, tie it up, define it. Oy. Amazing one can came out the other end of that tunnel.
Remember those people who bottle it up, sometimes they just need to let it out, with someone they trust completely. They don’t need to snap, to curse, to lash out — they just need a well to drop it in.
I’m really not sure if denouement is at the bus stop, or once the bus pulls out. I guess it depends which movie you’re living in.
