Sometimes flattery is not intended. People sweeter than Lenny perhaps allow the misunderstanding to continue.
Sadly, for most people I know, it’s not that everyone in the world is a jerk in the dating arena (just most), but that we bring into our lives the jerkiest jerks we can imagine.
Randall’s skepticism is well placed, but it needs a new driver.

Tormenting friends is a sweet enjoyment which is so unique. I think this strip has that good feel of it, although I think in writing the “Bruno” strip as a whole, that I should perhaps have played up more of their relationship’s non-ironic non-tormenting side.
I think it’s funny that bruno thinks she’s learned to not look back, because she hasn’t. And when I wrote it, and likely believed it myself, I hadn’t either. ;-)
When I read about hurricane Fifi, I could not resist writing this strip. Althouh, it was so long ago, so i can’t remember, but I’m assuming I was referring to the one in 1974 in Honduras, and not Cyclone Fifi in 1991.
Bruno is not being so nice, but still, loneliness (even self-imposed) is a difficult thing.
