Lenny may be loving and generous, but what’s a friend to not let another friend know it just to poke fun?
I am also amazed at how at several times in my life, everything I own (or st least need) can fit in a car. Very useful when i moved from the east coast to west.
Ah Lenny. And to save you from having to look it up “Porphyria’s Lover” was a poem by Robert Browning, in which her lover comes to visit her and strangles her with her own long hair.
I find that sometimes people (including myself) can be accidentally far too revealing when trying to be helpful.
As a writer of serial stories, I found sometimes when in a rut it helped to bring a big changer in so everyone in the story would have to deal with it. With Little Dee, it was a minivan full of penguins.
It’s easy to not realize that everyone else who knows Bruno, knows that too. ;-)
I used to wonder this more when I measured friendship by the speed and depth of intimacy.
I used to have a pair of heart boxers. I remember them fondly.
In fact, I’d say that Lenny more than any of the other characters, resembles my wardrobe.
When I first published this strip, a man and maybe his wife (the memory is a bit hazy now), wanted to maybe do an animated version of Bruno. This was the strip they chose for a sample strip. Although nothing more was ever done (that I’m aware of) on the project, I still remember that fondly and still hear their voices reading the strip.
I always found meditation rather dull. I’ve done it, I’m okay at it, but it never was my thing.
