I find that often people as straightforward as Randall have difficulty quite “getting” abstract people like Bruno.

I’ve found that sometimes arguing a point brings out angles you didn’t want to really know about in the first place. Which is why being silent can be so nice.
I find the key to relationships is communication, and that it’s easy to assume based on your own values and expectations. But assuming too often leads to misunderstanding.
In this case, quite a bit of one. I totally know casual daters like Todd. Not immoral, just a different way of going about it.
Yeah, when I wrote this I was going through a lot of realization that I assumed the rest of the world was on the exact same page as I was, and surprised and rather embarrassed at my utter inccorectness.
She’s good at bringing out a more intimate level of conversation, just not always very useful
