Pleading ignorance is sometimes the safest path. I have no idea if I intended that he ACTUALLY forgot or not, nor do I know if he knew.

I sometimes have thrashing dreams, and sometime yell myself awake. But more usually when I overheat than when I have heavy stuff on my mind.
Dreams are weird.

And for the record, Moon Pies make everything better. For the minute or two before the sugar-rush brain pain begins.
Sharing a writing project before it’s done is a funny thing. Sometimes I’m into it. Sometimes not. It can really help a project to get feedback before you keep increasing a small beginning mistake into an integral part of things. but sharing it can also take the steam out of the sails.

Gifts are fun to give, but there are dynamics which are hard. Whether to see the person open it or not, how to say thank you. Very complex.
