Sometimes it’s hard to tell if Cat is being snarky, or simply delivering the sad truth. I guess that’s similar to the fine line between pessimism and being realistic.
Not feeling a reason to live is VERY different from desiring to end your life. But it is equally miserable, sometimes if not more so, in its hollow horribleness.
I have sometimes found it hard to tell when someone wants encouragement, and when they are actually setting boundaries which it is not nice to cross. Ah, the tricks of being human.
