Sometimes it’s hard to tell if Cat is being snarky, or simply delivering the sad truth. I guess that’s similar to the fine line between pessimism and being realistic.

Not feeling a reason to live is VERY different from desiring to end your life. But it is equally miserable, sometimes if not more so, in its hollow horribleness.
It’s amazing the shit psychiatrists have to put up with.

I’ve loved the book “Little, Big” since high school. It is some solace. ;-)
I have sometimes found it hard to tell when someone wants encouragement, and when they are actually setting boundaries which it is not nice to cross. Ah, the tricks of being human.
Oh, and “The Legend Of Druken Master” is so great. :)
Heh. For fun I piled on ALL my favorite books at the time. “Geek Love,” “School For Fools,” “Master and Margarita,” and then “Little, Big” again.
Ive always thought it must be awfully hard to be a psychiatrist, when the patient is beyond your reach.
I remember when writing this period of time, I adored the character of Dije, but partly because he pushed bruno to new places. And then a time came where she needed to push back, and raise their relationship to a higher place.
I used to love getting a Honkin’ Burrito on Red Square in Portland. Yum!
