Meanness following meanness is never a cycle I like, but it is common, and I can’t even say i am exempt from sometimes following it. Not that I feel sorry for Clark either. I’m glad, at least, that Bruno isn’t feeling celebratory about the whole thing.
Bruno is a bit nasty to Jay, but I also find this an interesting side to her, in that Donna is giving her the cold shoulder and she won’t accept that Donna has any fault in the matter and takes it all on herself.
I always felt sorry for Susan here, because she thinks Bruno is simply going to throw the cinderblock through a window or something, and if Bruno had actually died, Susan would have never let herself live it down.
On the flip side, I always laugh when I see the bookcase in the background with the missing cinderblock.
If you take his comment more generally, along the lines that we’re all reaching towards the thing which brings us joy and life, it’s actually a rather nice sentiment.
I can imagine little worse for Bruno than to be hit on when she’s ready to jump off a bridge. I was a mean writer sometimes, which also made me laugh.
Sometimes it’s good to break things apart. When we grow out of childhood, we learn to separate what is us and what is the world. But sometimes it’s easy to slip back into it being one muddled mess in one’s mind.
The guy walking by is sweet. <3
This is truly what I think a cat would be thinking. Or perhaps, “what? You mean you plan to stop petting me?”
