Antagonistic friendships need these good moments, or they don’t work. I think that’s a scientific principle, actually.
Sometimes I wonder how much of our brains slowing down has to do with waning curiosity. It seems the curious people I know who are older have minds pretty dang sharp.
Of course I’ve had trouble with memory since I was a kid.
Sometimes when I’m talking in a droll fashion, some kids will think it’s hilarious. I am always confused by this.
I think this strip was inspired by the fact that I do not want shit being thrown at the fan, especially when I’m eating a sandwich.
Sometimes not telling people it’s your birthday is the best gift, if you don’t like parties or have been let down too many times.
I like this strip because I think it contains a pretty horrible truth (from what i’ve observed), although I think that it may not be clear that the boredom is with the person they’re in the relationship with, and not just a general “I’m bored, i think I’ll mess with them” kind of thing.
It’s also interesting to read this and know what will go on between Lenny and Susan later on in the strip.
I have never played softball as an adult, or any organized sport I can think of. Never occurred to me to want to. I’m sure it’s probably very fun.
