Whenever I feel in a rut, and my creative life is shining, I try to remind myself that that’s not the REAL part.
I’ve sometimes have had friends like Sophia, who as I get to know them I start seeing clues dropped about their outside-the-norm romantic lifestyle choices. And it’s always odd, because I’m too shy to ask until I really feel I have enough clues to feel justified in asking.
Once nice thing about this “philosophy group” (as they call it), is that they like debate, and they know at the core they love each other. This is just one of those fights, which will pass.
My favorite part about this strip is Sophia’s line about casting the second stone. I think too often we lash out to feel better, rather than working to bridge the chasm and work together.
Sophia’s last line is key, to me. If you honestly think your morals are slipping, it is time to reflect on what you’re doing, or consider redefining your morals.
Of course, if you’re debating this stuff in the moment, then you are not in ANY way objective.
