I’d forgotten that I drew a double-panel strip so early on. It’s strange as well, the background is from a photo: that’s the house I grew up in, and the body of Rick is my dad’s (I just put a different head on him). In fact, Bruno’s body might be from a photo of my friend Jess…. Â not sure.
But the sentiment had nothing to do with my dad, it was from a letter someone wrote in to the UMass Daily Collegian in response to Bruno (which was running at the time).
Was someone writing something along these lines just in response to how Bruno dresses in the strip? Or was it in response to something said in an earlier strip?

Someone had written in to the UMass school newspaper to complain about my strip, and so those were his complaints which Bruno is replying to.
