Yeah, I wondered about that, too, since Bruno is a boy’s name in France…
She never asked before? Not even when the school kids teased her for having “a boy’s name”? Because you know they did.
However, the guy’s first name was “Giordano” so maybe she should count her blessings. Then again, “Giordan” is pretty much “Jordan,” although even that probably wasn’t a common girl’s name during Bruno’s childhood, which if she originally appeared in the late 1980s was presumably the 1960s-1970s. OSLT.
BTW, do I get points for knowing they were talking about Giordano Bruno *before* I saw today’s title? ;-)
One also thinks of Galileo’s “it moves’ – truth mneisrtag (well-founded) fear, so astonishing to think of. I mean the fear for one’s own safety, not the fear of an angry diety.
