The things we lie (or don’t divulge) about to our parent, knowing full well that everyone in the conversation knows it’s untrue.
I mean… not that I do it.
That’s an interesting use of “divulge” as well. Hm. A mix of devour and indulge?

I’m curious. Later in the comic you draw nudity freely, but here it’s all white, and earlier places you could’ve drawn it you didn’t. How did you feel about nudity in your comic, and did that change later? How do you feel about it now?
I can tell you, under my clothes, I’m totally nude.
Well, Bruno began in my University newspaper, and then was sort-of syndicated with a starting syndicate (never went anywhere). So nudity and swearing were issues.
But also, I grew up with little exposure to risque movies or comics, and so it took a while for me to be comfortable with putting it in my work. And it’s such a complex issue. There are so many reasons for doing it. I tried with Bruno, and think that I continue to try to do it tastefully and only to further story, or to give a fuller picture of a character’s life and world, and not merely as a way to sell product.
But this is all a very brief synopsis. As I said, I think it’s pretty complex. For me at least. ;-)
