I got lost in DC late at night with a van full of school books, then the world cup ended and in certain neighborhoods drunken viewers spilled out into the street. This was my opinion of it.
Thank god for modern GPS devices.

I’ve lived on the outskirts of DC most of my life. I still get lost.
But the worst part is all of the people who say, “How can you get lost? It’s a grid! All you have to know is the alphabet and how to count!”
The one way streets and roundabouts and special routings make it like some kind of ancient curse: You can SEE the building you want to get to; you can “orbit” closer and closer; but you can never actually GET there!
