As long as nobody cares enough to transfer them…
i rather hope it remains around forever. i worry about all this digital media – which becomes so much junk when you lose the technology to read it. with microfilm, you just need light and a magnifying glass.
@Mouse, as far as I know, in the Library of Congress, they have a department which converts cds into vinyl, for the same reason.
I always preferred microfiche myself. It’s easier to manipulate, plus being able to search in 2 dimensions gets you to the page you want faster.
