   I’ve seen people be like this when they are very angry, or are drunk, and sometimes I see things on the internet, behind the veil of it’s limited anonymity. But it takes a special kind of insensitivity and idiocy to explain one’s bigotry to a random stranger, in person while calm and sober. And I think Bruno is currently being more patient with this guy than I would be.

   She’s more patient than I would be. But then, I have the additional goad of knowing that ignorance is self-replicating, that hogwash spreads faster than Ebola, and that the power of a comforting stupidity is greater than that of God. Who wouldn’t be out of patience?

   I think it’s safe to bet that the Empire, with its Nazi helmets and Nazi unmoirfs and “Chancellors” and its revolving door of evil German/Nazi-looking officers with disturbing lack of faith, that the Empire is supposed to be like the Nazis. On the other hand, it was the rebels whose ceremony at the end of Star Wars I like to think that Lucas was acknowledging the ambiguity of the situation and the potential for evil inherent in any government or potential government. But he probably just thought it looked kind of cool.

   WOW! That was such a great post! Hi. I found you through the Simple Mom blog. My failmy and I will be staying in ABQ for a month starting tomorrow, so it was great timing. We are up there for medical reasons, and we’re going to have a lot of free time on our hands for a little while. So, I haven’t been sure how to entertain my four-year-old.
