Totally with you on this. Saw “The Life of Pi” in a pretty well-equipped big screen theater; was totally transfixed throughout. Watched it again on my computer, where I watch most of my movies, and wondered “What the hell did I see in this overblown, pretentious crap?”
@Kona It’s hard to say what’s definitively good in books (or book-to-movies) anymore. A lot more of it is just reviewers and purists setting you up for greater disappointment. Then again, a truthful “it’s all been done” wouldn’t sell anything.
