I get it. But jeez-louise, Bruno. That was kinda nasty.

Well, *you* made her say it…
I was at Seaside as a kid in the 1950’s and loved it. I’m sure I’d not like it now with all the “progress” and growth that area has to have seen. I’ve seen “progress” ruin too many places in the last 50 years.
That’s probably just what your parents were saying when you were a kid. ;-)
To those who know this, no explanation is necessary.
To those who do not know, no explanation is possible.
ronald: she absolutely did *not* make her say that. Instead of responding negatively, Bruno could just have well have instead said, “No, we went to ….” and talked positively about the places she did go to. It was an opportunity to enrich someone’s life by telling her about an experience she might not have been aware of, and instead she chose to put her and her choices down. Unnecessary.
No, I meant CHRISTOPHER BALDWIN made her say that. Bruno can’t do or say or even think anything unless the writer/artist causes her to do it. CB wrote the nasty remark and had Bruno say it, so it seemed odd for him to be “criticizing” Bruno for saying it. That was my point, such as it was. Not much of one, I admit.
Ha! Yes. Writing is very much that way. Even as the author, it can be surprising what comes out of your characters mouths. :)
ronald: I’ve dabbled a smidge in writing and have found that sometimes your characters just go off and do what they want despite what you intend them to do. I had whole scenes plotted out but when it came time to actually create it it takes on its life and does its own thing. Many times it turns out better than the plotted scene. I make no claim to be a good or professional writer but folks who have read my stuff have seemed to have enjoyed it and that, in the end, is what it is all about.
