I wonder how many death threats (not necessarily from Californians) that endeavor resulted in.
Really, I’d settle for “right-wing Christians” (definitions of that label may vary, of course) just admitting AND remembering that “under God” wasn’t added to the Pledge until 1956. The founding fathers didn’t put it there. Heck, the founding fathers didn’t even write the Pledge in the first place. They can’t seem to accept that, though.
I fully expect the Gen Z right-wingers to take it for granted that only Jesus Christ is the OFFICIAL God of the US, and to stare and you and laugh in derision when you tell them otherwise. To them, there cannot be any such thing as freedom ‘from’ religion. That’s like freedom from guns. Cain’t be.
