Editing is actually one of my favorite things to do. Possibly second to brainstorming really bad ideas, which I do to make myself laugh.

Writing is essentially re-writing.
Once you know that, the rest is gravy. And self-promotion, of course.
What I dread after sharing my writing is being constantly asked WHAT IT MEANS! How the hell do I know, ask the damn muse that made me write it and and re-write it for 40 years.
I know a woman whose nascent writing career was ruined by this propensity. If you can find “Contrarywise” and/or “Trickster’s Touch” by Zohra Greenhalgh; it was supposed to be a trilogy. The publisher really really liked what she was doing, gave an untested writer a substantial advance…but sent the ms back for “just a couple of small changes”. Of course, these changes triggered/forced other changes, and by the time she was done, she’d essentially had to write an entire new novel, incorporating the desired changes. This took a LOT of time. Deadlines missed all over the place. Rinse and repeat for the second book. The advance eventually ran out, and she started needing money. The first two books were published, about a year behind intended schedule, the series was ended there, and she never found work in the industry again.
