And thus is the working world at the bottom. If I recall, this was based on an actual experience. :-/
Happens more often than we’d like to think, because the people arranging the payroll systems don’t care how much complexity or absurdities or simple bankrupting paradoxes they build in, just so long as they can calculate what number of people will make what kind of errors to cheat themselves so the designers don’t have to bother. You’ve heard of planned obsolescence? Welcome to planned incompetence.
