It is as Collete wrote, advising on how to cry without ruining your makeup: “It is the courage of a doll, but it is courage nonetheless.”
Well, it’s nice that he likes for the strippers to be happy, there’s that, anyway; I’m sure there are jerks who take enjoyment from strippers being depressed.
If Bruno were insecure about her looks, she could at least take dubious comfort in having her attractiveness confirmed and reinforced. I’M certainly not attractive enough to be a male stripper.
Re yesterday’s strip (I’m never sure if there’s a point to posting comments on a page that’s already sailed past or not), it struck me as unusual that Bruno referred to Sean as her “lover” and not her “boyfriend.” In my reading experience, the term “lover” is all but exclusively used by gays and lesbians. Maybe since Bruno’s bisexual, she uses the term “lover” in both scenarios so she only needs to remember one word instead of two or more. ;-)
@Pete, yes!
@Ronald, my impression is that there is often a positive feeling from audiences at strip clubs, my thought is that it is because in many patron’s subconscious it is like the wooing stage of a relationship. But I’m sure that, if true, is only true for some.
Oh, and a straight couple close to me used the term “lover” with each other, which is how it found its way into the strip. I always thought it was sweet.
