It was about this time I met a dear friend through my job, who was impressed that I was honest when she asked, “how’s it going.” Still friends to this day.
The job was still terrible and glad it’s in my past.

I’m not sure but I think a fall of three flights is more likely to cripple than kill. Which would of course only make one’s life worse.
Two words about that building. “Marble floors.” (And if the intention is self harm, you go head first) (obviously I put thought into this at the time)
I watched a guy dive off the third tier at Chino Central after he lost his final appeal and was going to have to do life without. He tried to land head first but over-rotated. All he did was lie on his broken back and scream. And no matter how crappy your job, believe me, there are worse. I’ve had them.
Oh, that’s horrible.
And yes, I’m so glad I’m no longer in that place (mentally, physically). And glad I never tried it.
Had a job I took out of desperation. Hated it but kept at it hoping it would get better. It didn’t. Boss was cheap. Finally went in, after talking with my wife, and told her I was quiting and why and told her how she needs to fix HER problem. Best thing I ever did. Got a much better job. Smiled a lot after that.
