Yeah, there comes that moment when you start to think for yourself just a little too much…and suddenly people aren’t so on your side any more.
Reoccurring theme of mine: … So, just kiss her already…..
Disagreeing with someone isn’t the same thing as not being on their side or caring about what happens to them. You can listen, but good friends tell you if they think you’ve gone wrong.
Those same friends can also be assholes who’ll spit out unsolicited bad advice, but aside from online trolls or sadistic IRL turds, most of them aren’t trying to make you do anything or hurt you with what they say.
Even strangers who you’ll never meet might care about what happens to you but just not know how to help.
After you get to yonder hills… what then? Was it the destination, or the bolting that was important? Or can’t you stop to consider which if either is the answer, or even AN answer?
You can run so fast you can outrun your feet, your heart, and your head. Or was that the point after all?
I had this rough outline of what I thought might be a moderately funny line about stale fortune cookies but then realized that might be taken badly…
