Put another way, philosophy is the antithesis of decisiveness. This is because for every philosophy, there is an equal and opposite philosophy.
But only if you assume that philosophy must equate to action, even the passive action of being. Demonstrably we can state two opposites and the world does not end; what, then, is the effect, or affect if you will, of these ‘opposing’ philosophies? Could it be that we understand them never so well as we imagine? Or do they exist outside the framework of action, even that of contemplation, and thus occupy a sort of null-Zen space wherein their meaning, and even the meaning of their meaning, can be contemplated without danger of consequence?
Needs thought. I’ll get back to you.
