Wow. Plus ca change…
Replace one name, and this would be totally up to date.
ADD a couple of names and I might know who some of the people in today’s strip are. ;-)
I recognize Bruno (of course), Randall, Susan, and Lenny, and someone is identified as Ellen (a name that isn’t on the list of Tags), but otherwise.
Except I don’t think Canada is much of a sanctuary from corruption anymore (in comparison to 2004 me’s opinion). We’re technically a tax haven. That we *haven’t* had many leaks from our intelligence agencies scares me more than hearing about all the leaks from the U.S.
The healthcare might be “free”, but you’ll wait hours in a hospital for something unexpectedly very painful unless you’re obviously dying (maybe not even then if you’re unlucky).
Ilirium, you would have the same experience at a typical US hospital. Except that you would have to sit down with a bean counter for the “wallet biopsy” before anybody would see you, and then you would end up with a bill for hundreds if not thousands of dollars — even if your “insurer” actually covered some portion of the cost after deductibles, copays, and coinsurance.
Not me. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it over and over again: I’m here until the last eagle is hanged.
Besides, even in Canada, one would still be able to SEE the devastation being wrought upon the USA by Tr, uh, whoever.
