Hm. Wish that more people said there was some value in the pre-Internet, pre-cellphone days. It was very different, but a lot less stressful, even for my parents, I think…
Early days, it was a bit of a useful novelty to have a phone in your pocket. Good to get in touch and talk with people wherever you are. When that device became connected to the Internet, it also became too addictive for some.
Oh well, couldn’t have predicted how integrated these things would become for society in general.
I beg to differ, Ilirium. Ray Bradbury had a very good idea of our future in his short story “The Murderer,” ca. 1952. Whose ending continues to fill me with dread every time I cross it. Like now.
