Have we ever seen Toby before? Will we ever see Toby again?
Maybe some time you could draw up a character guide clarifying how they relate to Bruno. Is the character one of Bruno’s friends or a friend of one of Bruno’s friends? Or a relative? Or a co-worker? Or so on. Yes, maybe. But probably not. ;-)
You are supposed to glean that from context. “My” friend as opposed to “our.” IN this case. Efficiency of story telling is essential in this one panel format.

Well, my suggestion wasn’t actually about Toby in particular. Toby’s presence just happened to make me THINK of my suggestion, that’s all. Thanks for the reply, though. :-)
I think the question of whether Toby has ever appeared before remains valid, though.
Chris usually (but not always, I admit that) shows the first meeting of Bruno and a character in the context of one of her circle of friends.
Toby, as a friend of one of Bruno’s closest friends, clearly qualifies as such a character.
Thus it seems (to me) more likely than not that we in fact HAVE seen Toby before, but I can’t be certain. Hence, the question.
In contrast to the SUGGESTION, which was never meant to be taken very seriously in the first place.
“Maybe he’d like to draw up a guide but probably not.”
Does that sound like I expected Chris himself to actually take the suggestion very seriously? It wasn’t intended to.
My apologies if I screwed up on this. I do that with alarming frequency. :-|
