   Well, for one thing, she’s not presently suffering from a freshly broken heart (about which Jay the jerk teased her).

   Is it worth wondering how Samantha knows about it? I mean, if Bruno didn’t tell her about it, who did (possibly violating Bruno’s trust by doing so)?

   Although I’d never kill myself because I know how much it would upset my family, I can’t presume to “judge” anyone who chooses suicide. I don’t recall ever being in a genuinely life-threatening situation before, but on rare occasions, I wonder just how hard I’d try to escape (which is the opposite of Bruno’s reaction). I *wonder*. On RARE occasions. It’s nothing that should concern anyone. Hopefully, the situation will never come up, anyway.

   Adding a few more good choices to her life is precisely the point. Would that a near-death experience she hadn’t planned could jar Bruno to this realization. We’ll just have to wait and see.

   As the Barenaked Ladies (almost) sing, “If I put my fingers here, and if I say ‘I love you, dear,’ and if I pray the scene records, will you just yawn and say (“Ha! As if!”) it’s all been done before.”
