You know, I totally sympathize with this guy. But on the other hand, i totally sympathize with Bruno here. Which is probably why I’m the author, it’s just that kind of strip. :)

Is this guy meant to look like Riff-Raff from the Rocky Horror Picture Show movie or am I just seeing things ?
I always sympathized with Bruno, myself. The only kind of guy who would hit on a woman he just pulled out of the water after a suicide attempt is, well, the kind of guy that woman wouldn’t want to date. This guy is giving off a desperate vibe.
He’s coming off of an adrenaline high (did he have to figure out how to unchain Bruno WHILE underwater? that shows real presence of mind) and thinks he’s done an incredibly brave thing (which, technically, he has). I can understand him wanting to at least talk with her.
Bruno doesn’t seem very upset that her suicide attempt has been foiled. For someone who had to carry that cinderblock all that way, she doesn’t seem to have really had her heart in it.
@Ronald, well, the instinct to fight for life is strong, so if one chooses a chain and a cinderblock and a river, I might expect that they know their body would struggle against it — and perhaps embrace being saved.
I don’t sympathize with anyone but I totally dig the hell out of the tension in this strip.
