When I wrote this, a friend of mine had just told me that she had been diagnosed with having a non-cancerous ovarian cyst. I wrote this strip to cheer her up.
It’s my birthday! I’m turning 5! So old!

Happy Birthday, Christopher!
Happy Birthday!
Thanks!
This is how I express affection to my friends, too. I say horrible, horrible things, but make them sound like compliments.
Only I don’t have any friends.
But it’s what I would do if I did.
Happy Birthday! I believe I was born the same year as you, so that means I’ll be turning 5 in June!
Also, I’m trying to identify the building on the left in the background. It looks a little like Noho City Hall, but given the houses nearby, I bet it’s a church. Do you remember if this was an actual location?
I had wondered about that dialog…
Also, Happy Birthday-that-was!
Thanks all! :)
@Sean, I think that’s the Amherst town common, and I think i drew it on-site (although with notice precise accuracy) while sitting in the grass there. The building on the left is the church on the east side of the common, although I forget which denomination.
I’m always late to post. :(
Happy Birthday. Since the day is over, I’ll wish you a happy week.
